With his web site I want to try to give you some information about self esteem and also some help.
It may come as a surprise but low self esteem is a solvable problem. It is not something which one has to put up with or try to live with……….It can be overcome.
But to over come low self esteem we first have to understand what it is, how it comes about I the first place and what actions we need to do to actually change it. What is Low Self Esteem?
Low self esteem is a fixed and repetitive negative frame of mind that you have about yourself or some aspect of yourself.
And in that, we immediately see what we have to do to make a change to low self esteem.
We need to change attitude.
And there are a number of ways that we can do that.
We can do it through education……..through simply training in a new pattern. That is possibly the most simplistic approach and unless done in conjunction with a deeper step will simply revert back under stress or outside pressure.
The deeper approach….and in my view the only long term effective approach is to first of all discover what is at the root of feelings of low self esteem. Which involves finding the beginning of feelings of low self esteem.
And then addressing the reasons which led to that frame of mind becoming repetitive. In that we cut the power.
The mind and the thoughts in it require power of fuel if they are to run and run.
That fuel comes in the form of decisions we make about ourselves. Numerous decisions and thoughts eventually build an attitude and then if we simply try to change that attitude “head on” so to speak, we will have problems with it.
But if we isolate the decisions upon which those thought are based and if we then isolate the events which lead to those decisions we find that we can more easily re-evaluate the base and basis of the now apparent attitude. Low self esteem and feelings of low self esteem stem from a basic attitude.
That attitude in turn is formed from a number of decisions and thoughts.
And those thoughts and decisions were inevitable made in times of high stress or trauma, and thus could very well be incorrect.
The Complete Self esteem Workbook is based upon that very simple theory and contains very effective exercises which show you how to undo the effects of those stressful or traumatic times and thus re-evaluate the decisions that you made about yourself at those times.
