Self Esteem Tips.

We can establish quite readily and with little scientific mumbo jumbo that self esteem is an important factor in our lives.

Self Esteem, in the final analysis, is essentially how we perceive ourselves and how we feel about ourselves.

When our self esteem drops, our enjoyment of life tends to drop with it, so we can see that there is a link between enjoyment of life and self esteem.

Now, we can turn this on its head and say that if we are enjoying life our self esteem would be high and that makes some sense. We can then take that one step further and say that if we can “switch on” enjoyment then our self esteem would tag along and we would start to feel better about ourselves.

It is possible to “switch on” enjoyment and it is very easy to do.

If you were to sit and deliberately recall times when you were happy and enjoying life you would soon find that you started to feel better about things and better about yourself.

I know that it sound so simple that you may doubt it’s workability but I invite you to try it for a couple of days and see what happens.

Sit down somewhere quiet where you will not be disturbed and simply recall a time when you were happy. You do not have to get into a big number and try to analyse this, simply recall a time when you were happy, don’t dwell on it just recall it for a couple of seconds and then do it again and recall another time when you were happy.

Then recall some times when you were enjoying yourself, same thing, simply recall a moment when you were enjoying yourself, look at it for a few seconds and then recall another time you were enjoying yourself. Do this many times. It does not really matter if you recall the same thing a few times or just the once, the point is to keep moving with it and to look at each moment for just a few seconds.

Also try recalling times when you felt good, had a good meal, achieved something, bought something you liked etc etc. Good times.

Try it, I know you will be pleasantly surprised.

Sometimes a person with low self esteem ends up wishing that they were more like someone else. If I was more like Joe I would handle things better etc etc.

That attitude actually compounds low self esteem because it is a put down of self.

Try reversing it and finding people that you are glad that you are not like.

It is true that there is always someone worse off than yourself, but until you look at that and examine it for yourself it is just a thought.

Think back through your life and spot people that you are glad to not be.

If you are not getting the right balance of nutrients from your diet you will not feel good about yourself or anything else.

Pre packed, processed food is practically dead by the time you eat it, a lot of its nutritional value is lost in the process and it is not that big a joke to say that the packaging has more nutritional value than what is inside it.

Take a look at this aspect of your life. The engine will run a lot better on the right fuel and diet does not have to be a big deal, it is not a massively complex issue. It comes down to the right balance of vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, carbohydrates etc.

A little time spend studying and finding out about this and then adjusting your diet if needed can and does make a big difference.
